About Joe

Joe Woolley has spent his career connecting people to opportunities, to each other, and to the world. The Nashville Business Journal recognized that, naming him to its Power 100 list as a Connector for four consecutive years. His last consulting firm was called Qonnect Solutions. Connection is not a brand positioning. It is who he is.

His career began at CBS News, where he produced for the foreign desk, moving journalists around the globe to cover the stories that mattered. He built a network of global contacts and fixers across most countries, a network he has maintained and drawn on ever since. That network is what got him hired as Communications Director at the Cooperative Center for Study Abroad, where he spent four years moving students to distant destinations and managing crisis communications when things went wrong far from home.

Joe then spent nine years with the Nashville LGBT Chamber, five as CEO, building a statewide business community, growing membership by 44 percent, managing a $1.2 million budget, and serving as a public voice on national media, including CNN, MSNBC, the New York Times, and the Wall Street Journal. He later ran his own consulting practice, working with influential businesses and leaders across multiple sectors. Confidentiality is standard in that work, not optional.

He founded joe.travel in March 2024 to bring all of that into luxury travel advising. Joe is affiliated with SmartFlyer and Virtuoso, both by invitation only. Joe has sailed on seven cruises across Royal Caribbean, Celebrity, Virgin, Ponant, and Explora. He is trained and registered with all major cruise lines and knows the ships, the cabins, and the differences between lines the way someone knows them when they have actually been there. He is a lifelong skier who started at two years old, became a ski patroller at 15, and learned the mountains alongside his grandfather, who patrolled for 50 years. He grew up in Idaho hunting, rafting, hiking, and riding motorcycles. The outdoors is not something he added to his resume. It is where he comes from.

Joe has traveled for 25 years alongside his husband Jim, always looking for the right experience, the right hotel, the right table. People have followed their travels and asked for recommendations longer than there has been a business to call. That is the foundation joe.travel is built on.
